Have you paid your tuition yet?

One American entering Seoul National University’s Grad School has not.  According to an article referenced by Korea blog par excellence The Marmot’s Hole Mr. F, slated to enter one of SNU’s graduate programs this March, gambled away the 5 million won he had for tuition, so he tried to make it up by holding up the jewelry department of a department store in Seoul.  He got away with 13.5 million, but was subsequently caught and it is unlikely that he will be matriculating any time soon.

Orientation Schedule Out

And available for download here.  Orientation is on February 21st.  The meat of the event appears to run from 9:30am to 3:10, during which we will take a class picture (I assume that means wear a tie/dress reasonably well?), get some advising from faculty and upperclassmen and register for classes.  This is all followed by a Welcome Party put on by the Graduate Students Association at 5pm.  I have been in contact with the GSA about having them contribute to this blog, but it appears that most of them are not in country at the moment, with the notable exception of fort-holder-downer and GSA vice president Clay Shin.
